Glovestop

MIT 2.009 Product Design Fall 2016

I took this capstone Mechanical Engineering class in the fall of senior year. Over the course of the semester, my team of 17 had the opportunity to explore the product lifecycle. From identifying needs, to interviewing users, to designing a product, to getting feedback and iterating, to exploring market viability, to pitching the product, it was a thorough lesson in bringing a product to market to make an impact.

We developed our product, Glovestop, to help make the process of removing gloves faster and safer for chemistry lab researchers. The end result was a robust but simple product, and we believed that was its beauty: it did exactly what it needed to, reliably and easily. At the end of the semester, two my teammates and I had the opportunity to present our product to an audience of over 1,000 live and 5,000 on webcast. It was truly exhilarating and one of my most memorable experiences.
